Dr. John Marcin, OD
Dr. Marcin is originally from Stuart, Florida. He completed his Bachelor's degree at the University of Houston and went on to complete his Doctorate of Optometry in 1966. A year later he began practicing in Bradenton, Florida where his original practice has grown to become the Eye Center, Inc.
Dr. Marcin has served as president of the Florida Conservation Association and Commodore of the Bradenton Yacht Club. Currently, he is president of the Manatee River Pram Fleet and an active member of both the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and Bradenton Yacht Club. Dr. Marcin is married to his wife Barbara and is a proud father of four grown children.

Dr. J. Brian Murphy, OD
Dr. Murphy was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. He graduated from Florida State University with a BA/BS degree in 1966. He then attended Ohio State University and completed his Doctorate of Optometry in 1974.
Dr. Murphy is highly active within the community. He has served as chairman of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, president of the United Way, and president of the Florida West Coast Symphony. Additionally, he has served as chairman of the Manatee Public Schools Foundation and Suncoast Workforce Board. Currently he is an active member of the Lakewood Ranch Kiwanis Club.

Dr. Michael Mackie, OD
Dr. Mackie is a native of Manatee County and joined the Eye Center, Inc. in 1996. Upon graduating from Manatee High School, he attended Auburn University and received a BS in Zoology. He then attended Nova South Eastern College and obtained his Doctorate of Optometry in 1996.
Dr. Mackie has served on many local boards and organizations. He is a past president of the Coastal Conservation Association of Manatee County and has served as a board member of Just for Girls and the Bradenton Yacht Club. Currently, he is a member of the Manatee Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and was a two-time past president. Dr. Mackie is also a member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Hernando Desoto Historical Society, and is actively involved with local high school athletics.

Dr. Sarah Mackie, OD
Dr. Mackie is originally from North Carolina. She moved to Florida and began practicing at the Eye Center, Inc. in 2001. She attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and received her B.S. degree in Biology. She then went to Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she obtained her Doctorate of Optometry in 2001. Dr. Mackie practices full-scope general optometry, including the fitting of glasses and contact lenses, as well as the treatment of dry eye, glaucoma and other ocular diseases.
Dr. Mackie is currently a member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce. She is actively involved in the Junior League of Manatee County where she has chaired several events and served on the Executive Committee. She is also a member of the Manatee Young Professionals.

Dr. Ashley Muhlada, OD
Dr. Muhlada is originally from Chesterfield, Michigan. She began practicing at the Eye Center, Inc. in July 2008. Dr. Muhlada completed her undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University in 2003 and then obtained her Doctorate of Optometry from Ferris State University in 2007. Upon completion of her degree, Dr. Muhlada completed a residency in ocular disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. She specialized in the areas of glaucoma, retina, pediatrics and neurology.
Dr. Muhlada is currently a member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and serves as a board member of Just for Girls. She is actively involved in the Manatee Young Professionals serving on both the MYP Community Service and MYP Ambassadors Subcommittees. She is also a member of the Bradenton Yacht club Membership Committee.

Dr. John Lewis, OD
Dr. Lewis joined the Eye Center, Inc. in April 2009. Originally from Bradenton, Florida, Dr. Lewis graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science in 1970. He then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he obtained his Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Lewis has been practicing optometry in Manatee County since July 1974. He has participated in numerous contact lens clinical trials and is currently the Assistant Chief Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Lewis was a past member of the Florida State Board of Optometry and now serves as Vice Chairman of both the Manatee County Rural Health Services and Florida Optometric Association Charities Committee.
